Stolen goods seized at the Rastro

Local Police officers from Santa Cruz seized stolen goods at the famous Rastro in the city last Sunday. The objects that had been reported stolen by the owner were recognised by him. After a tip by the National Police that stolen goods are often offered for sale at flea markets, the owner set off on a search and found what he was looking for. He reported his findings to the police. The Local Police inspected a stall run by a 41-year-old man, who among other things offered a floor cutter, a tool box as well as 55 individual handicraft devices in a sports bag for sale. The man could neither prove the legal origin of the objects nor did he have a licence to sell them at a flea market, which was an administrative offence. The presumed stolen goods were seized, and recognised by the rightful owner at the police station. The seller claimed that a third person had given him the tools for sale.
