The annual music-fest that is the Eurovision song contest was on May 24th, and will have, no doubt, the required number of doo doo dahs, mournful ballads, and cheesy unintelligible rock numbers with risqué wardrobe changes. But in recent years there has also been a fair share of less serious entrants, this year Spain and Ireland among them. So should countries that no longer seem to take the contest seriously be asked to stay at home and leave the stage for serious songsters only?

I think the idea of Eurovision is that its a music contest but that notion seems to have been lost these days. Now it is more a game than anything else. I think they should be disqualified because the aim seems not to be appreciating the music of other countries but making a laugh of the whole contest.
