|Remember the days of the old school yard? More likely you remember those hazy lazy days of summer which seemed to stretch on forever and there was nothing to do but play – but many of the children of yesteryear are parents today and the long summer days pose a huge problem: what to do with the kids? In an ideal world at least one parent would be around to relax and spend quality time with their offspring, but tell that to the bank manager when the mortgage needs to be paid.|
Today more and more local councils are organising summer camps and activities for local children. But is that enough, or should there be a more comprehensive selection of holiday activities for kids?

We think in the small villages, where we live, there is quite a good organisation between sport camps, swimming classes and other activities. It is worse in the bigger cities. We know women who have to pay someone to look after the children during the holiday while they are working.
