|Remember the days of the old school yard? More likely you remember those hazy lazy days of summer which seemed to stretch on forever and there was nothing to do but play – but many of the children of yesteryear are parents today and the long summer days pose a huge problem: what to do with the kids? In an ideal world at least one parent would be around to relax and spend quality time with their offspring, but tell that to the bank manager when the mortgage needs to be paid.|
Today more and more local councils are organising summer camps and activities for local children. But is that enough, or should there be a more comprehensive selection of holiday activities for kids?

To me it’s not a problem at all, because I am a teacher. So I do really enjoy the summertime, spending loads of time with my family – the time I don’t have during the year and for my wife it is a break, because she has time to relax while I am looking after the children.
