You’ve made the big move and brought yourself lock, stock and barrel to another country and are trying to settle in.

Many of the neighbours may be ex-pats of various countries themselves, so how important is it to speak the language if living abroad?

We went onto the street to find out how many of you think it’s important to know your ‘perros’ from your ‘peros’.

Yes, it’s important to speak the language so you can get by - if a Spanish person asked for a beer in London in Spanish, they wouldn’t be understood, so why should the Spanish have to learn English for us in their own country?
